The word ”prosecuted” does not appear in the source articles. Over here it implies government charges of criminal activites. In personal or corporate legal conflicts (torts) we say ”sues” not prosecutes.
Just for information, the only reason the suit was filed in Tyler, Texas is because Smith County, Texas...where Tyler is located...is famous in legal circles for being favorable to plaintiffs. In other words, the jurors there are some of the primary sources of those enormous judgements that have come out of the current litigious American society.
And I say this as an American, a Texan, and a former resident of Tyler. Whether a suit has any merit is often a moot point...it does not matter. I would not presume to know the facts of the suit against Apple, but stuff like this happens all the time. It usually gets resolved without affecting the general public. The exception is the current judgement against Qualcomm which has not been resolved and could mean banning of US imports of new phones with Qualcomm chips. I still expect a resolution shortly. It’s all about Money.#postcomment
